Days of Lacrosse

Days of Lacrosse is a Rec tournament that is available to all recreational teams throughout the United States.

 

Tournament Dates - May 20th - May 21st.

Entry fees will increase as of April 20th.

Sign ups will close as of May 1st.

 

Teams must be rec teams and not select/club teams.

2023 Days of Lacrosse Registration

Location:  Ann Morrison Park, Boise Idaho

Dates:  Sat-Sun, May 20th-21st.

Divisions / Fees:

  • Boys K-2:   $125 - 4v4
  • Boys 3/4:   $300 - 7v7
  • Boys 5/6:   $450 - 10v10
  • Boys 7/8:   $450 - 10v10
  • Girls 5/6:   $300
  • Girls 7/8:   $300

Payments are to be made in full upon registration.  Cancellations made before April 1st will be refunded in full.  Cancellations made after April 1st will be refunded, minus a $100 cancellation fee.

The 2023 Day of Lacrosse features a tournament-style format with a 3-game guarantee for boys and a 3-game guarantee for girls (We are working on field space to allow for 5 games guaranteed which we will update this page when we verify we are able to accomodate).  Pool play games (2 for boys, 2 for girls) to determine placement into blue and orange brackets (if time and schedule allows) for single elimination action. (number of games may increase depending on tournament factors)

Playoff bracket play featured on Sunday with 1 game guaranteed more games are possible as we work on our field availability in the coming days. All divisions will have a championship bracket with medals awarded to the winning team.

Rules for Days of Lacrosse - Any rule not specified will follow USALacrosse Rules

Format for the tournament will be pool play followed by playoffs.

All games will start at the top of each hour and a central horn will be used.

No on-field time will be allotted for team warm-up.

Pool play points will determine seeding for playoff rounds; 2 points for a win; 1 point for a tie; and no points for a loss.  Teams can tie in pool play, no overtime.

Tie breakers for pool play will be in the following order:  1) head-to-head, 2) goal differential, 3) goals allowed.

All rules will be in accordance with USA Lacrosse including/except the following:

  • Team listed first on schedule is considered “home” team and decides which goal to defend first, first Alternate Possession goes to the other team
  • K-2 and 3/4 ONLY:  Mercy Rule – if one team is up by 8 or more goals, other team has possession of the ball in lieu of face-off or AP. (3/4 Coach may choose to face-off instead of receiving ball)
  • Play will consist of two 22-minute runtime halves with a 5-minute halftime
  • K/2 and 3/4 - No Man Down (player will serve penalty, new player will come on the field)
  • K/2 and 3/4 - No live subbing
  • 5/6 and 7/8 – No substitution horns, all substitutions will be on the fly
  • All divisions – No Timeouts in last 5 minutes
  • 3/4 - two attempted passes required on offensive side of the field before shot on goal. Change of possession resets count.
  • No overtime in pool play
  • Checking roles as clearly defined in the USA Lacrosse rules
  • No long poles in the Boys 3/4 division
  • No one-handed checks
  • 5/6 and 7/8 will play with the 20/10 failure to advance rules
  • Boys Face-offs will be required to use NCAA rules (neutral grip, feet and gloves only allowed to touch ground)
  • K-2 - Coach Ref
  • K-2 - will be 4 players on field no goalkeeper
  • K-2 - two attempted passes required anywhere on field before shot on goal
  • K-2 - No Goalie
  • K-2 - No face offs for K-2, Alternating possession, first possession with coin or stick flip
  • Girls  - 12U/14U Modified Checking
